More Hunger Games News: More pictures from the set (Katniss, Peeta and Gale in Action)

I found more pictures on www.ew.com! Thought you guys might appreciate them since they are magnificent. Plus it will put some of you at ease ;)

Gale and Peeta walking on the forest runway!

Work it!

"It was a love-fest when Liam Hemsworth (The Last Song) and Josh Hutcherson (The Kids Are All Right) learned they'd landed the roles of Gale and Peeta, respectively. The guys first met after Hutcherson worked with Hemsworth's big brother, Chris, on an upcoming remake of Red Dawn. Says Hutcherson, ''I sent him a text: 'Dude, we have The Hunger Games! I'm so stoked, man, this is awesome!"
-EW.com

Peeta and the bread.

For some reason I always thought of this side of town as being more warm and better looking, but the picture makes sense. I mean sure they have a "better" life than the rest of District 12, but not that great.

"Before arriving on set, Hutcherson hit the gym for an intense round of training to better embody a boy who's spent his childhood heaving sacks of flour. He put on about 15 pounds of muscle in three weeks."

Katniss and Gale at the forest.

I saw this picture and everything clicked! They look perrfect!
I can't wait for this damn movie.

"Director Gary Ross on Hemsworth, here with Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss: ''On first glance he's such a hunk that it's easy to ascribe a hunklike simplicity to him. But this is a phenomenally subtle actor, totally in control of what he was doing.''
-EW.com

Katniss hunting.

My favorite image is the one with Katniss and Gale. So cute.

"Hutcherson and Lawrence have become playful friends, but he's a little concerned about the payback she might give him for a prank he played on her. ''I'm sure she's going to pay me back,'' says Hutcherson. ''I'm just terrified because she's someone I can see taking it to the next level, and somebody could get hurt.''

Moving and Working

I am moving out of my apt and into a new one. Same complex, just from one building to another. Normally this would only take a day, but I work at said complex so I will be working night and day with no "Getting out of jail" free card, as is. So I may not be posting every single day, but I will try not to be so far away ;)

As of right now I have over 6 boxes full of books (and two guy friends willing to do the heavy lifting). Three boxes with series and DVDs, and 2 suitcases full of clothes (and I still have more lying around).

Damn, I still have to pack more. I hate packing, don't you?

The Hunger Games Movie News: Take a look at Gale and Peeta ON COSTUME!!

NOW I LIKIE! They look good! He looks like peeta, and he looks like Gale (though I would have liked longer hair on Gale, but no matter!!).

This issue of Entretainment (out this friday) will issue a cover story with Peeta and Gale. This is what it says on the magazine:
-MEN OF THE HUNGER GAMES-
Your first look at Gale and Peeta -and how the actors are bringing them to life.

Never have I been such a believer in the power of make up and good acting, you remember how they looked in their other pictures? Not like Gale and Peeta, but now I can see it quite well.

Before...

Peeta - Gale

After...

Gale - Peeta

What do you think? Do they pass your test?

Hurray for The Hunger Games!!

And that's decidedly not normal. With her world crumbling around her, can Jill come to embrace a new member of the family?
Mandy Kalinowski knows what it's like to grow up unwanted--to be raised by a mother who never intended to have a child. So when Mandy becomes pregnant, she knows she wants a better life for her baby. But can giving up a child be as easy as it seems? And will she ever be able to find someone to care for her, too?
Critically acclaimed author and National Book Award finalist Sara Zarr delivers a heart-wrenching story, told from dual perspectives, about what it means to be a family and the many roads we can take to become one.
Au Revoir Crazy European Chick is a GREAT title! And after reading the summary I have to say that the cover is very fitting and very good. The Story of Us, I love this cover!! It's so pretty! ^^ Destined is another Greek story retelling, hopefully it will be a good retelling, while Forbidden is about Angels and forbidden existence. Also Forbidden has an academy, and I love books with Academies! Plus, such a pretty cover. Every time I see the cover of How To Save a Life I instantly think of the song by The Fray. I read one book by Sara Zarr before, Once Was Lost and was surprised to find that I liked it, so I plan to read How to Save a Life. Sara Zarr has proven herself to be a fantastic author, so I'm sure she won't disappoint!

So what about you? What are you waiting for this wonderful Wednesday? Did you add these to your mailing list?

Teaser Tuesday: The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa (The Iron Fey Series)

Paperback, 386 pages
Expected publication: October 25th 2011
by Harlequin

"Does a crow become a salmon simply because it wished to? You do not know the first thing about mortality, prince-who-is-not. Why would you want to become like them?"
"Because," Grimalkin answered before I could say anything, "he is in love."
"Ahhh." The Witch looked at me ans shook her head. "I see. Poor creature. Then you will not hear a word I have to say"

I was in love. With a human.
I smiled bitterly at the thought. The old Ash, if faced with such a suggestion, woul've either laughed scornfully or removed the offender's head from his neck.

I finished The Iron Knight, and I will have a review up soon! Some things I will say here are that The Iron Knight fulfilled it's purpose. It tied up loose ends and let us explore Ash more in depth. After reading The Iron Knight now I am more convinced than ever that I love Ash and Julie Kagawa's writing!!

Review: Twilight: The Graphic Novel by Stephenie Meyer, Young Kim (Art/Adaptation)

Title: Twilight: The Graphic Novel
Author: Stephenie Meyer, Young Kim (Art/Adaptation)
Series: Twilight
Book #: 1
Pages: 224
Reading Level: Young Adult
Book Rating:
Published: March 16st, 2010
by Yen Press
When Isabella Swan moves to the gloomy town of Forks and meets the mysterious, alluring Edward Cullen, her life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. With his porcelain skin, golden eyes, mesmerizing voice, and supernatural gifts, Edward is both irresistible and impenetrable. Up until now, he has managed to keep his true identity hidden, but Bella is determined to uncover his dark secret...

Beautifully rendered, this first installment of Twilight: The Graphic Novel
Taschima's POV:
I don't think this book needs a full on review, but I'll give you my two cents. As far as adaptations go this one nailed it. It shows you the scenes and dialogue that really matters while cutting most of the prolonged boring crap. Success!

I loved the art. It's basically the sole reason I bought this book. I mean I already read the entire Twilight series so the main draw of this book is to see it in a new platform. All I got to say is that it looks better than the movie lol The way they portrayed the characters was interesting. I like how Bella was portrayed, but I kind of disliked Edward a bit. I have to say I prefer Robert Pattison to the Art Edward.

This is how it looks on the inside:

Sidenote: Nowhere in this book does it say that this is manga, it says GRAPHIC NOVEL, so don't expect the manga art. Expect something new and nice and interesting and good. It's good art. Young Kim is a very good artist.

The graphic novel is mostly in black and white, though it has parts with color (I applaud the parts they choose to have color because they stand out from the rest and they are important parts in the story). For example, the meadow scene is in color, and it looks amazing.

Would I pat $20 for each book in the graphic novel series? Hell no. For $20 bucks I can buy two other books with more pages than this, but I got to say that Twilight: The Graphic Novel is a great add for any Twilight fan's library everywhere. So what I'm basically saying is that it's a very good add to your collection if you like to collect books (which I do; but I got it at Borders for like $5) but if you just want to read it and see it for the hell of it, go to your library or spend 20 minutes in your closest bookstore (That's how long it took me to read this one)

PS; This is NOT the entire Twilight book, it's just part 1. Imagine the bill after all the graphic books are out and you wish to buy them at full price... ouch.

Part 2 will be coming out October 11th 2011:

The Hunger Games MUSIC

Are you ready for some wicked awesome music inspired by The Hunger Games?

They call themselves District Tribute. I found their page on FB and I got to say, I really like how they portray certain parts of the book. Most of the music is instruments going at it (which does not appeal to me fully but as a backdrop for when your reading is delightful). I wish more of their songs were with people singing, but that does not mean that the music in itself is not beautiful and otherworldly.

Here is one of their songs that I really like, It's called The Hanging Tree, sound familiar?

"Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Where they strung up a man
They say murdered three
Strange Things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met up at midnight
In the hanging tree

Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Where the dead man called out
For his love to flee
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met up at midnight
In the hanging tree

Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Where I told you to run
So we'd both be free
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met up at midnight
In the hanging tree

Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Wear a necklace of rope
Side by side with me
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met up at midnight
In the hanging tree"

If you wish for more this is their Facebook Page and this is their Youtube Page. Anyways, how did you like it? Have you found other Hunger Games inspired music?

The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra Teaser Trailer!!

I know this has nothing to do with books, but I am a FAN of Avatar The Last Airbender (I have all DVDs to prove it) and they just released a trailer of the sequel to the original series and at the moment I am like this:

Yes, that excited!!!Avatar the Last Airbender is the story of a young monk (Aang)...

...and his friends Katara and Sokka- they are brother and sister. Katara is a water bender, and Sokka is the comic relief.

The series follows the adventures of the main protagonist Aang and his friends, who must save the world by defeating the evil Fire Lord and ending the destructive war with the Fire Nation (wikipedia).

Also Aang is the Avatar (the only person in the whole world who can bend the 4 elements -water, earth, fire and air- to his will. One is born every time the previous one dies).

And it's full of AWESOME!! The great thing about this series is that it's so funny, and the plot is amazing and the characters are amazing. Basically you can't go wrong with The Avatar.

That was an introduction for those of you who haven't watched it, for those of you who have watched it and finished it well then IF YOU CLICK HERE you will get to see the trailer (the trailer is at on.Nick.com).

I just thought I'd share the great news. I can't wait for this new series to start.

5 Reasons You Should Read Delirium by Lauren Oliver

I recently finished and reviewed Delirium, by Lauren Oliver, and although a review can give you some sense of if the book is good and why it is worth the read I think sometimes you just need that extra push over the edge. So here I am, trying my darnest to get you to read Delirium. Why? Because it's freaking awesome!

Delirium
 Hardcover, Special Edition, 480 pages
Expected publication: August 2nd 2011
by HarperCollins Publishers
1.  " We shouldn't even be talking about this,. Someone could be-"
"Someone could be listening?" She cuts me off, finishes my sentence for me. " God Lena. I'm sick of that, too. Aren't you? Sick of always checking your back, looking behind you, watching hat you say, think, do. I can't -I can't breathe, I can't sleep, I can't move. I feel like there are walls everywhere. Everywhere I go -bam! There's a wall. Everything I want- bam! Another wall.
She rakes a hand through her hair. For once, she doesn't look pretty and in control. She looks pale and unhappy, and her expression reminds me of something, but I can't place it right away."

2. "Grace's life fell apart because of a single word: sympathizer.
My world fell apart because of a single word: suicide.
Correction: That was the first time my world exploded.
The second time my world exploded, it was also because of a word. A word that worked its way out of my throat and danced onto and out of my lips before I could think about it, or stop it.
The question was: Will you meet me tomorrow?
And the word was: Yes."

3. "That's the beauty of the cure. No one mentions those lost, hot days in the field, when Thomas kissed Rachel's tears away and invented worlds just so he could promise them to her, when she tore her skin off her own arms at the thought of living without him. I'm sure she's embarrassed by those days, if she remembers them at all. True, I don't see her that often now- just once every couple of months, when she remembers she is supposed to stop by- and in that way I guess you could say that even with the procedure I lost a little bit of her. But that's not the point. The point is that she's protected. The point is that she's safe."

4. "When he finally pulls away it's like a blanket has come down over my brain, quieting all my buzzing thoughts and questions, filling me with a calm and happiness as deep and cool as snow. The only world left is yes. Yes to everything.
I really like you Lena. Do you believe me now?
Yes.
Can I walk you home?
Yes.
Can I see you tomorrow?
Yes, yes, yes."

5. "You want to hear a different one?" He doesn't wait for me to answer before beginning to recite, "'How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.'"
There's that word again: love. My heart stops when he says it, then stutters into a frantic rhythm.
"I love thee to the deph and breadth and height my soul can reach..."
I know he's only speaking someone else's words, but they seem to come from him anyway. His eyes are dancing with light; in each of them I see a bright point of candlelight reflected.
He takes a step forward and kisses my forehead softly. "I love thee to the level of every day's most quiet need...'"
"Alex-" I start to say, but the word gets tangled in my throat.
He kisses each cheekbone- a delicious, skimming kiss, barely grazing my skin. "I love thee freely..."
"Alex," I say, a little louder. My heart is beating so fast I'm afraid it will burst from my ribs."
You could get this one or if you don't like waiting you can get the one that is out now with the original cover:

Delirium (Delirium #1)

Just to warn you though, the cover of Pandemonium goes with the special edition cover so, it's your choice. Just read it!! Also not a lot of people say this, but I actually like this cover because when you take off the jacket on the book itself there's the complete picture of the girl in this cover. The whole face is showing, and not just bits and pieces like it is here. I like it, but oh well!

If you want to read my review on Delirium click here!

Is her altered brain now predicting death, or causing it?

Is their gift a miracle, a freak of nature—or something much more frightening?

For fans of best-sellers like Before I Fall and If I Stay, this is a fascinating and heart-rending story about love and friendship and the fine line between life and death.

The List by Siobhan Vivian
Expected publication: April 2012

An intense look at the rules of high school attraction-and the price that's paid for them.

It happens every year. A list is posted, and one girl from each grade is chosen as the prettiest, and another is chosen as the ugliest. Nobody knows who makes the list. It almost doesn't matter. The damage is done the minute it goes up.

This is the story of eight girls, freshman to senior, "pretty" and "ugly." And it's also the story of how we see ourselves, and how other people see us, and the tangled connection of the two.

The List may not be paranormal or strange, but I thought it has a good summary so what the hell! The cover for Fracture has been out for a while but I don't remember posting it here so I decided to just do it.  Plus it says it's for fans of Before I Fall, written by Lauren Oliver, and I recently read Delirium and loved it so, yeah!

Cinder's cover (another Meyer coming to rock our worlds?) was released recently, and a looker it is! Plus, Cinderella mixed with cyborgs? MUST READ! Wander Dust was a little difficult to find a release date, I looked everywhere and still couldn't find a specific date. But oh well, I love the cover, and I like the summary, hopefully you will too. Finally, Try Not To Breathe... left me breathless when I saw the cover, so pretty. I haven't read The Secret Year yet though so I must read it before this one comes out!

Leave a link to your WoW so I can visit!

The Hunger Games Movie Poster!!

EXCITING!!! To be honest I kind of forgot for a second there that The Hunger Games was being made into a movie, with the Harry Potter excitement and Vampire Academy voting that's going on (it's crazy!). But I saw this poster and got excited all over again, it's real, it's here!

Look at that pretty Mockingjay! I am also VERY grateful they are playing this publicity from an angle of "war" and "sacrifice" and excitement and THE HUNGER GAMES, and not from a "triple romance!", "Ain't them hot" sort of angle. THANK YOU! Next I would like a poster with Katniss in it, but remember people, the story is about Katniss and the rebellion, not about the romance!! The romance is a very entertaining side dish, but it's not the main entree.

Also, the flames in the poster? They move. CLICK HERE TO SEE THEM DANCE! Ain't that awesome?!

PS; For those of you who have missed quite a bit:

Review: Delirium by Lauren Oliver

Title: Delirium
Author: Lauren Oliver
Series: Delirium
Book #: 2
Pages: 441
Reading Level: Young Adult
Book Rating:
Published: Feb.01st, 2011
by HarperTeen
Lauren Oliver's Official Website
Before scientists found the cure, people thought love was a good thing. They didn’t understand that once love -- the deliria -- blooms in your blood, there is no escaping its hold. Things are different now. Scientists are able to eradicate love, and the governments demands that all citizens receive the cure upon turning eighteen. Lena Holoway has always looked forward to the day when she’ll be cured. A life without love is a life without pain: safe, measured, predictable, and happy.
But with ninety-five days left until her treatment, Lena does the unthinkable: She falls in love.
Taschima's POV:

Now I'm absolutely positive the world is not ending on 2012. Why, well, if it were to end we wouldn't be able to read Lauren Oliver's sequel to Delirium, and I think I've been good enough in my life for this wish of mine to come true. My letter from Hogwarts got lost in the mail, so I at least deserve to read Pandemonium before I die!

In Lena's world love is something to be avoided, never talked about, love is a disease and you better count your lucky stars that your don't catch it. Lena is not like other teens though. Other teens have parents who are cured, parents who haven't showed them what being loved is actually like. Lena isn't as lucky. Her mother always loved her. When Lena fell of her bike, her mother showered her with kisses and told her she would be okay. Her mother used to dance and sing, she was full of life and love. Her mother's last words to Lena were "I love you. Remember. They cannot take it", and then Lena never saw her mother again. After that Lena went to live with her aunt and cousins, even changed her last name. After all no one wants to live with the last name that in a same breath came be combined with words such as suicide. So Lena moves on, but never forgets about the dances behind closed doors, or the kisses that came after the pain.

Lena, like every other teenager, is anxiously waiting for the day that she can be administered the "cure". Maybe if they do it to her she will be able to escape safe from the madness that led her mother to kill herself. One can only hope. But on a day while running out with her friend Hanna, the best friend who isn't afraid to think out of the box and take chances, Lena meets the boy who will change her views, her future, her entire life. Alex. Hanna always said that Lena didn't have it in her, she wasn't a risk taker, she was nice safe Lena, seems like it's time to find out if this is true... Is Lena even remotely capable of experiencing amor deliria nervosa?

I wouldn't compare this story to Romeo and Juliet at all. For one thing I very much dislike the story of Romeo and Juliet, another thing is that in Delirium the characters don't seem to meet up and instantly fall head over heels in love with each other, willing to give their lives away just because of a fling. No, in Delirium the characters grow and get to know each other and support each other and tell each other their deep dark thoughts and secrets, things they couldn't do with anybody else, they learn to trust each other and take comfort and support from each other. Lena grows and develops and learns to stand up for herself with the help of Alex and without the help of Alex. She is strong, a fighter, and I know that no matter whatever happens in her future she knows enough to never give up, not going down so easily, not without a fight.

Love is a many splendored thing,
Love lifts us up where we belong,
All you need is love
-Ewan McGregor, Moulin Rouge

This novel reminded me in so many different little parts of other dystopian novels. The electrically charged fences, used to keep intruders out as much as to keep others in, from The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, the slow but ever increasing awareness that the main character is opened to over time, from Matched by Ally Condie. The operation that the people in the novel have to grow through at a certain point of their lives, from Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. Even though it reminds me of other novels Delirium stands all on its own. It's spectacular and incredible, and if you haven't read it yet is because your insane. It's worth the buy 100%.

Also even though I was against the government all the way I could also understand where their argument comes from, and how their solution may in fact help a previously screwed up world. I still don't think that giving up love is worth all the ramifications, but being able to see the other sides view and how it may actually help some people makes the whole thing that much more complex and so much more worth reading.

It's because of this and so many other details that I love Delirium. Page after page I became entranced with the story, captivated by the characters, stupefied by the society, and baffled that anybody would prefer to live a life full of emptiness instead of living a life that although at times its sure to be painful it also holds the key to a world of wonderful possibilities like never before.

I also thought it was so hilarious that this was all happening on the US. It seems like all the other countries weren't on the same program. We who pride ourselves of being progressive and open minded and in the US they are implementing "love" cures. It's ironic really, and I love me some Irony.

The ending was definitely not what I was expecting. I was expecting something to happen, but not what actually happened. It was unexpected, and exquisite. I loved every single second of it. Even the parts that I didn't like, and made me want to scream my head of, I loved. Wanna see how my reading progress went after I hit page 261?
