"Fire was the trademark of a Cataclyst, and Sarafine's fire had burtn every inch of there fields the night of Lena's birthday. Now Lena was starting fires unintentionally. My stomach tightened.
"The grass will grow back, too."
"What if I don't want it to?" She said softly, strangely, as she let another handful of charred grass fall through her fingers.
"What?"
"Why should it?"
"Because life goes on, L. The birds do their thing, and the bees do theirs. Seeds get scattered, and everything grows back."
"Then it all gets burnt again. If you're lucky enough to be around me."
There was no point arguing with Lena when she was in one of these moods. A lifetime with Amma going dark had taught me that. "Sometimes it does."
She pulled her knees up and rested her chin on them. Her shape cast a shadow much larger than she actually was.
"But I'm still lucky." I moved my leg until it caught the light throwing a long line of my shadow into hers.
We sat like that, side by side, with only our shadows touching, until the sun went down and they stretched toward the black trees and disappeared into dusk."

"She reached up and laced her fingers behind my neck, pulling me into her. I found her lips, and we were all over each other as if we were afraid we might never have the chance to touch again. This time, when her mouth tugged at my bottom lip, biting gently into my skin, there was no blood. Just urgency. I turned, pushing her agaisnt the rough wooden wall behind the ticket booth. Her breath was ragged, echoing in my ear even louder than my own. I raked my hands through her curls, guiding her mouth to mine. The pressure in my chest started to build, the shortness of breath, the sound of the air as I tried to fill my lungs. The fire.

...I might never know what that kiss was. But I knew this kiss, and I knew it was all I had - a chance.
Which lasted all of two seconds.
Because then I saw Liv, carrying two cotton candies in one hand and waving at me with the other, and I knew the wall was about to go back up, maybe for good. "Ethan, come on. I have your cotton candy. We're going to miss the Ferris Wheel!"

Liv handed me the cotton candy and smiled at Lena, holding out her hand.
A blond? Lena looked at me. Seriously?
"Lena right? I'm Liv."
Ah, the accent. That explains everything.
"Hi, Liv." Lena pronounced her name like it was an inside joke between us. She didn't touch Liv's hand."

I cast The Hunger Games

Entertainment Weekly is my absolute favorite magazine. In its last edition they gave us the scoop on many new and old series that are starting out this fall, I can't wait! As I was reading between Grey's Anatomy (which ended last season with a BANG!) and Parenthood (With my favorite Gilmore Girl, Lorelai) I found an article named You Cast The Hunger Games.

While some of their choices were dead on, others were, well, not so much. They did a poll online to indicate which actors and actresses the public preferred for the part, and the ones who won were...

Well, he is Iron Man, but he could too pull it off I guess... I am still rooting for Hugh (I would marry Hugh if I only was a bit older).

Basically, I don't like the limited choices on Katniss and Peeta. They will take most of the screen time, and they just don't seem quite perfect. And they have to be perfect. Down to the last hair.

So what are your choices for Katniss and Peeta? In fact, what is your opinion on this WHOLE thing? Scream out loud and tell me which actors and actresses should play each part because at the end of the month I will make my own poll, and then you all can choose from the popular few that get to the last round.

PS; This is not my choices for casting, but what the people chose on a poll for EW, though I like most of them.

All the hype was dead on. Paranormalcy took me by surprise and hasn't let go.

Evie has lived at The Center most of her life. Well, the part that matters anyways. Her job is to bag and tag Supernaturals, and she does this without question. Going to High School, being a normal girl and possessing a lockers are things that exist only in her wildest dreams. One day the alarm sounds, and what she finds will change her life. A shimmering, aqua like boy who can change into whatever person in the world he want to. No one has ever known anything like him, then again no one has heard of anything like her. On the other hand Supernaturals are disappearing at a rapid pace, will Evie discover the secret that lingers in the Eyes Like Melting Snow, or will the Supernatural world perish forever?

Oh Darn, I found another people! And this one is alive!! (Beep, Beep, Beep...) All the hype was correct, Paranormalcy is one NOT to be missed! With a gorgeous cover and a fantastic plot there is nothing more in this world that you could possibly wish for.

Intriguing and adorable characters? Check. A boy that only appears on your wildest dreams? Check. Characters growing as the story goes on? Check. Check. Check. Evie is like the cutest thing ever. I love her, which is very strange since my favorite characters are usually kick butt sarcastic I-could-kill-you-if-I-wanted-to girls (Rose Hatthaway, Cat, among others). Evie likes pink, she wants badly to attend school, and she loves cheesy TV shows. But she has an unique quality to her that makes you love her instead of wanting to kill her. Oh, and her best friend is a mermaid! How freaking cool is that?!

In this book every character counts, no one is there just to fill up space, they all have a purpose, and they all leave a print in your mind. Also, double brownie points for being unique!

Lend is the boy that got away. At least in my case. He is sweet, while still depicting an image of riding in the wild side, or at least reaally wanting to. Their relationship is one you hardly come by on normal occasions and when you do you just don't want it to stop.

Other than romance and amazing characters, the story has action, and plot twists that I didn't see coming. Can somebody say Hurray?

I cannot wait for the next book, thee will be a next book right? I want to get back to Evie, and she what crazy thing is she going to do next.

Having Problems with Copy Paste, HELP?

Is anybody else having problems with pasting something on their posts? Because it's freaking bothering me. I usually do my reviews first at Shelfari, sort f the rough draft, and they paste them here for all of you to see. Lately I haven't been able to because my dear sweet Tashiba is refusing to come out of her coma, what I did to her to deserve this Ill never know, and when I try to do my posts how I do them normally on other computers, well, THEY DON'T FRICKING WORK. It's messing with my posting schedule, is messing with my life O.o

Coming up I have two reviews to post (if I can EVER find a bloody computer that does my bidding) one for Paranormalcy (5 hearts) and one for Eternal Kiss of Darkness (also 5 hearts). Ive been on a roll lately with good books, Meridian, then Eternal Kiss of Darkness (even though I absolutely knew it was going to be good -Jeaniene Frost for goodness sakes!) and then Paranormalcy- which was so good I can't believe anyone who is not going to buy this bad boy-.

Does anybody know why is this happening? Is it a sort of new add on to Blogspot? (a very annoying one...) Or is it just the computers I employ?

As soon as I find a decent computer I will paste my reviews over here, which will have to be pretty darn soon because I need to post something by tomorrow!

WHY, oh god why... DID I WAITED SO LONG TO READ THIS?!

Someone, somewhere, should invent a radar that goes beep, beep, beep, very fast when a good book is close by! With all the other stuff that was being piling up in my list I almost lost this book, but after months of searching I found it and read it, and it was good!

Meridian is the story of a weird girl who discovers she has this connection to the supernatural. Bang, totally on my radar. She has been around death her entire life; little insects dying, cats who have babies at her feet and then die along with their kittens, and most recently? People. Things dying close to her is completely normal, until her 16 birthday comes along and her family completely flips out, sending her away to live with her great aunt and this completely alluring guy who she is pretty sure hates her. Life couldn't be worse right? Wrong, as it turns out she is a Fenestra, the window, and/or bridge, to paradise, and someone is after her. But the truth is that her worst enemy in reality, is herself.

I reeaally liked this one. I am amazed at how little press it got actually, it is an interesting enough story, and the sequel promises new territory to be covered. The main character, Meridian, is a weird and very relatable girl. Tess, the guy, is charrrming in a very dark way. Auntie is the nicest lady ever!! I would love to have her as my great aunt. And the connection between them 3 was amazing, a lot of people hope for something like that.

The story is covered with the supernatural, religious, and romantic aspects. I think they blend very well together, they balance each other and don't overpower the story. Though at times it could go slow it was a roller coaster ride. A nice Roller Coaster ride. And OH MY GOD, so gory at times!! I really enjoyed the goriness actually, it was just right and it gave it the perfect blend of reality. Amber wasn't scared to go hard core on this book thank the Creators!

I am really looking forward to Wildcat Fireflies, I am so curious as to what route Amber is going to take the story on, and how it will work out.

First thing that came to mind: Hilary Duff is sorta famous, which means she has money, which means she must have connections, if this were all true, why couldn't she get a better looking cover?! I mean, the color is pretty enough, the font is cool looking, sorta gossip girl-ish, but the image itself? Shoot me dead and call me sparky. I guess if it was looking for boring looking, well, it hit right off the park.

The cover is the first impression. It's hard, so hard to get over that first impression, specially if it's a bad one. We are already a bit (yeah, right) cynic about the writing skills, some people are even wandering if she had someone else write the book for her... Bottom line, the cover is just not helping.

THEN AGAIN, as Ive said before on some other post, I have a bit of faith that Hilary can pull it off. The summary sounds kinda interesting, maybe enough to compel me to pick up the book, and Hilary has made it into my Top 5 guilty pleasure list so I don't hate her. Yet some people are very weary as to if this book was published because of the author's name on the title, or because she is a gifted writer.
