Even MORE Hunger Games Merchandise!!

I recently got an email from Hot Topic involving something about them having a 50% off on any one item in the store and so I said SWEET and went to Hot Topic expecting to buy this cute mario backpack I saw the last time I was there and wanted very much.

But then I saw this...

At first I was like, well I did buy that other Hunger Games shirt the other day and this one doesn't impress me as much so I went to put it back in the rack, but then my boyfriend (who went with me to HT even though he hates it there ^^) saw the back...

My rebellious instincts, some borrowed from the novel and some natural, sprang forward and I ran back to the register and bought it.

Isn't it the best freaking shirt ever?! HECK YES!

If you wish to buy this shirt hurry up to Hot Topic (the 50% off thing is just till Saturday 31st I believe- you have to get a card there but it's free of charge) and get it! Normally it's 22$ but for me it was like 11$ and something cents.

Review: Succubus Blues by Richelle Mead

Title: Succubus Blues
Author: Richelle Mead
Series: Georgina Kincaid Novel
Pages: 343
Publisher: Kensington Fiction
Reading Level: Adult
Publish Date: March 31, 2007.
Rating: .5
Cover Rating:

Succubus (n.) An alluring, shape-shifting demon who seduces and pleasures mortal men.

Pathetic (adj.) A succubus with great shoes and no social life. See: Georgina Kincaid.

When it comes to jobs in hell, being a succubus seems pretty glamorous. A girl can be anything she wants, the wardrobe is killer, and mortal men will do anything just for a touch. Granted, they often pay with their souls, but why get technical?

But Seattle succubus Georgina Kincaid's life is far less exotic. Her boss is a middle-management demon with a thing for John Cusack movies. Her immortal best friends haven't stopped teasing her about the time she shape-shifted into the Demon Goddess getup complete with whip and wings. And she can't have a decent date without sucking away part of the guy's life. At least there's her day job at a local bookstore-free books; all the white chocolate mochas she can drink; and easy access to bestselling, sexy writer, Seth Mortensen, aka He Whom She Would Give Anything to Touch but Can't.

But dreaming about Seth will have to wait. Something wicked is at work in Seattle's demon underground. And for once, all of her hot charms and drop-dead one-liners won't help because Georgina's about to discover there are some creatures out there that both heaven and hell want to deny...

Taschima's POV:

I picked up this book because it is written by Richelle Mead, author of Vampire Academy, one of my favorite YA authors; although after finishing her debut novel, Succubus Blues, I now understand that she has long been an amazing author, even before Vampire Academy, and is slowly but surely creeping into my Top 10 Adult authors.

Georgina that young woman who when entering a room captures the attention of all the male species, she is strong and a smart ass, always has a quick response under her sleeve, and is beautiful without comparison; though under all the charm hides a unhappy woman who just wants a way out.

She reminds me a bit of Rose Hathaway; reminds me but it is not Rose, you know how people can be alike but are not the same? Kind of like that. Our relationship has started as being a cautious flirtation, but I know that if I keep getting to know her I will fall in love with her persona.

Georgina is a Succubus, a force of evil, enticing males and making them hand over their souls is her job. But she is a rebel. She doesn't play her part to her full potential, instead choosing the life of normal human being. She works at a bookstore, has a cat, lives her life. Everything was going according to plan until the killings start happening. The first victim is a vampire. She wasn't his biggest fan, but a million questions now run through her mind. How could this happen? No one is suppose to be able to kill an immortal, right?

Attach this mystery along with the prospect of love and you have a winner. This book was entertaining and never boring. The first part of the novel can be slow because you are starting to get familiar with this new person, but the novel really picks up its stride a little closer to the middle. Here is where you will be at the edge of you seat, just dying to know what will happen next.

Some of the things I caught pretty early on, but this didn't deter my liking of the book. It has it's charm, and I believe it can only get better. One of the things that I loved about this book was that the lines between good and bad were blurred, nothing is what it seems, and rules that would apply in other installments have been banished. Also a friendly warning, it is an adult novel, so it has adult content. Don't say I never warned you.

Will be picking up the second book as soon as I possibly can! This is Richelle's debut novel, and even in this early stage the author has managed to capture my heart.

The Water War FINAL Cover Revealed! + Help Choose Another Cover

Do you like it? I luv it! It is very appealing, I would definitely pick it up.

Now, wish to help again?

Eyes In The Mirror by Julian Mayer

This is the story of two girls, Dee and Samara. Samara is a cutter; she’s been cutting herself for a while now. Her mother killed herself a few years ago, and her father is distant and uninvolved in her life. His focus is work and his girlfriends. Samara is looking for herself, for a way out of her pain. That’s when she meets Dee. Dee turns out to be her reflection in the mirror – literally her exact opposite. They live in parallel universes where they can go through the mirror into each other’s worlds and also switch bodies if they want to. Dee first discovers this and enters Samara’s world to try to help her. When Samara realizes that there is a parallel world through the mirror, she is horrified. But eventually she opens up to it and the girls talk to each other all night long. They’re exactly alike but exactly opposite at the same time; true reflections of each other.

Every teen girl fantasizes about having a double and best friend rolled into one--an alter ego with whom she can trade places, allowing her to disappear. Samara is a troubled and lonely adolescent, prone to cutting, who desperately craves both intimacy and escape from her unfulfilled life...until she meets her reflection, Dee, the seeming answer to all her problems.

With dual and dueling points of view, EYES IN THE MIRROR provides a perspective on one girl’s life never before seen in YA fiction: from her own, and from her freer and wilder reflection.

Parallel universes, cutter girls, evil twins... This sounds creepy. Hence my first choice would be cover number 1, but I also like cover number 2 because I like the font, I'm just not sure it goes with the creepiness.

So let me know what you think about it, but most importantly let the people at Teen Fire what you think about these, and vote!

The Eternal Ones by Kristen Miller

Growing up in a small Tennessee mountain town is hard, but it’s even more difficult when you’re Haven Moore, she of the broken family and mysterious visions. For as long as she can remember, Haven has had visions of herself in another life, as a woman named Constance, who loved a man named Ethan. Constance’s pull spurs Haven to go to New York City, where she is drawn to the famous playboy, Iain Morrow, and their ominous connection to the mysterious Ouroboros Society.

Suddenly Haven is living a luxurious life she’s never even dreamed of, alongside a boy whose connection to her she can’t explain. But it seems like Iain is keeping secrets from her. What is his connection to the Ouroboros Society? What does the Society really do? Is Iain really Ethan? And if he’s not…then who is he?

Taschima:

Constance was in Love with Ethan.

That is the only thing Haven is sure about since she had the ability to remember. She has always had this visions about a girl named Constance, and this boy named Ethan, and all she knows about them for certain is that they were in love and they both died. These visions sure bring her great pleasure, but they also bring great pains. Her grandmother thinks Haven is being possessed by a demon, as a matter of fact the whole town thinks she's possessed. But Haven knows differently, and she is determined to find out what these visions mean, before it's too late.

This book is AWESOMEEEEEE!!!!!

Now that I got THAT out of my chest I can proceed to write some more.

I just can;t put my finger in what exactly captivated me, perhaps it was the characters, the plot, one of the love stories, or the spellbinding way Kristen writes. Since the beginning this book captures your attention. Haven's visions give you a sharp contrast between the past and the present, but at the same time the two realities seem similar in some ways. As you read you won't get confused with whats past and present, which is good because on some books you can get completely lost.

This book is so good that I could be on page 50 at one point but look down a bit later and realize I am in page 143, the pages go by you and you don't even notice. The characters for me were as alive as you and me and displayed emotions as good as any living being. Haven's love and confusion and her determination to get to the bottom of things made me love her, and Ian is just a mystery character all book long. Some people might find the way Haven is confused a bit annoying, but I think that love can be confusing and terrifying at times, not knowing if the person you love is a killer can play with your mind. Plus we are in the 21st century, we can't trust people easily. Oh and Haven's best friend was a fresh twist, I love him!

On the romance department im in and out. I love the romance between Constance and Ethan, but am not as much a fan with Haven and Ian. Though gotta say that the first time they met it made the butterflies I sometimes have in my stomach dance and I had to read the pages again. Also, just a heads up, there is some sexual content in the book, but it won't bother much since it's YA and we don't really READ of the scenes, we kind of know whats coming and what happened.

I can honestly say the book kept me guessing as to what was going on. Never boring, never slow going, if the town people weren't hating on Haven one minute or the other Haven was already in NY getting into trouble. The mystery of the novel is tangible. The story is about reincarnation but that is not the only plot line, Haven is both discovering secrets of her past and present, killings that have gone without punishment, people that have gone missing, and lovers who might not be what you believe.

AGH! Read it!! The Eternal Ones is without a doubt one of the best books of 2010, don't let the simple cover fool you, this book is full of wonder.

PS; After you read the book the cover will grow on you a bit ;)

In My Mailbox!

*In My Mailbox was inspired by Alea at Pop Culture Junkie and created by Kristi at The Story Siren.*

This week was an EPIC week for books!!!!!!!!!

For Review:

1-Bright Young Things by Anna Godbersen (Few chapters, not whole book)

Bought:

My Dream Vampire Academy Cast

As you all surely know Vampire Academy is rumored to be turned into a movie. I have been putting my dream cast together for the past few days (trust me it ain't easy, depends on acting, the looks... pretty much it) and I think I got a solid idea of who I want and why I want them.

Now this is a YA series so remember that the actors must look, well, young.

Let's start with...

Actor's Name: Tom Sturridge or...

(Got the Actor's Name Wrong, Thanks Jadebrag for the heads up!)

Acting as...

Name: Christian Ozera
Status: Moroi
Hair Color: Dark Brown
Eye Color: Blue
Physical Description: Guy thin,
with a rather gloomy way, but it is very beautiful.

God I love Tom. Since Stephenie Meyer IGNORED me completely when I said Tom should have been Edward (not that she was listening in the first place lol) I think Tom has Cristian potential!!!! Who's with me!?!?!

And if not Tom well, Keegan looks pretty awesome!! And doesn't he look like Christian? He so does... I think I might even pick Keegan over Tom, oh the horror.

Name: Vasilisa Dragomir a.k.a. Lissa
Actress's Name: Kristen Prout
Status: Moroi
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Jade Green

Description: Lissa, a descendant from a long line of royal vampires, is a bit more fragile, and a lot more graceful and sophisticated. She also exudes a certain innocence, and charisma (part natural, part magical) that draws others to her. Lissa is described to be beautiful, with long, pale blonde hair and jade green eyes.

(Description from This Page and This Page)

Read the description of Lissa and then look at the picture of Kristen. Isn't that girl just perfect? And I have seen her act in Kyle XY, so I know she can pull off the good girl bit, and I am sure if she put her mind to it she can turn into a bit of a bad girl.

Name: Rose Hathaway
Actress's Name: Sophia Bush
Status: Dhampire
Hair Color: Dark Hair
Eye Color: Jade Green

Description: Rose has a nice curvy body, dark eyes, and C-cup boobage. lol She's pretty fit too since she does a lot of training with Dimitri. In VA she says that her skin is the color of the inside of an almond and her hair is so dark brown it's almost black. Rose Hathaway is a dhamphir, Known to have a bad temper, Violent, a Tease (*ahem ahem*), Envied by most girls at vampire academy, Hit-first-ask-questions-later attitude, known to defy authority, Practically an orphan since her mother left her in school the moment of her birth, best friend (and soon to be guardian) to princess Lissa.

(Description from Here and Here)

Lots of people are saying that she is too old for the part. And she may be, but she is just too perfect for the part of Rose! She is pretty, curvy, she can be a smart ass, and she can kick ass.

I LOVE HER FOR ROSE!!!!!!! I mean, there are lots of ways we can look past the age difference, there's technology and stuff right? She is a great actress!!

Name: Dimitri Belikov
Actor's Name: Ben Barnes
Status: Dhampire
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Dark Brown

Description: "He was older than us, maybe mid-twenties, and as tall as I'd figured, probably six-six or six-seven. And under different circumstances- say, when he wasn't holding up our desperate escape- I would have thought he was hot. Shoulder-length brown hair, tied back in a short ponytail. Dark brown eyes."
-Vampire Academy pg. 9

At first I was a little wary of picking him, but that was before I saw his smile...

Isn't that just a gorgeous slap in the face? I could watch him smile for days, or you know about 2 hours of movie time. If he lets his beard grow a bit, grows his hair some more to where his able to make a ponytail, and puts on a little muscle weight, he would make a dreamy Belikov.
