Quitting her husband's house and moving back in with her horrible family, Lady Maccon becomes the scandal of the London season.

Queen Victoria dismisses her from the Shadow Council, and the only person who can explain anything, Lord Akeldama, unexpectedly leaves town. To top it all off, Alexia is attacked by homicidal mechanical ladybugs, indicating, as only ladybugs can, the fact that all of London's vampires are now very much interested in seeing Alexia quite thoroughly dead.

While Lord Maccon elects to get progressively more inebriated and Professor Lyall desperately tries to hold the Woolsey werewolf pack together, Alexia flees England for Italy in search of the mysterious Templars. Only they know enough about the preternatural to explain her increasingly inconvenient condition, but they may be worse than the vampires -- and they're armed with pesto.

Taschima:

I loved this book! I think its the best one so far in the series.

In the previous installment Alexia find out about so many things, but the main one (right now anyways) is that she was pregnant. Now for those of you who have made it this far, bravo, you know what that means. Trouble. Her husband is a wrewolve, and they arent suppose to be able to procreate. So everybody believes that Alexia cheated on her husband... including her husband. With nowhere to go, Alexia leaves London in search of answers, and finds trouble in all the wrong places.

Okay, so this series has a lot of layers to it. It's like a Sookie Stackhouse or Night Huntress series, there is a main story but that is not all. There is the main story, which has tons of action, and theres the backdrop story which is like a puzzle of sorts. Combined they make for a heck of a novel.

The characters, oh the characters. Lord Maccon (Alexia's husband) is so freaking funny in this book! Not that he wasnt funny before, but circumstances have made him just downright hilarious, and adorable. Besides Lord Maccon, another werewolf that is soo interesting is Professor Lyall. He is just so smart.

We got to see a whole new side to Alexia in this book. I know she is soulless and everything, but, she has her moments of having a soul. We get to see how well she responds to the rejection of her husband, the Queen, and England as a whole. We also get to see the mess up relationship between her and the child inconvinience. She is such an interesting character. All of them are!

This is such a great series, and it only gets better as it goes along. I loved the beginning, middle, and end of this book, much like I liked the second one, and the first one. You will not be bored, and you will flip those pages like there is no tomorrow. Now go, buy, and enjoy.
