Just when he thought things couldn’t get any worse...
Nick Gautier’s day just keeps getting better and better. Yeah, he survived the zombie attacks, only to wake up and find himself enslaved to a world of shapeshifters and demons out to claim his soul.
His new principal thinks he’s even more of a hoodlum than the last one, his coach is trying to recruit him to things he can’t even mention and the girl he’s not seeing, but is, has secrets that terrify him.
But more than that, he’s being groomed by the darkest of powers and if he doesn’t learn how to raise the dead by the end of the week, he will become one of them...
Taschima's POV:
In a sense I'm really happy that I didn't read Infinity till this book came out because Invincible picks up right where Infinity left us. Like the same night and everything, Nick is with his friends after having survived the zombie apocalypse, knowing that nothing will ever be the same again. The very next day he wakes up to find that even more people want him dead.
This book held all the things that I loved about the first one. The characters are still a blast, Nick is still a smart ass, and there are plenty of supernatural creatures to go around. But this book is a little bit slower than the first. And the plot developed in a weird way. The ending seemed a bit rushed, by the time there were 20 pages left I didn't know how the book was going to wrap up at all, but it managed to do so.
Nick's eyes are finally open to some truths of the world. The book is enjoyable and a great sequel to Infinity. I just can't wait to get my hands on the third book cause the ending on this one was pretty awesome!! I mean, it isn't as fast paced and fill of action as the first one but instead it manages to answer a shit load of questions I was left with by the first book. Things I didn't understand became clear and I find myself learning more and more about the Dark Hunter world.
My favorite part of the book is still the dialogue though. It's filled up with enough sarcasm to make this girl fall in love. I heart me some wit. Nick is still a sweet heart, and darn I hope he stays this way. Buy it and read it, it's so worth it! Not better than the first one, but still a very strong second book!
