Taschima:

I bought this book two days ago. Started it today. Finished reading it today.

I guess what I can say is that I was shocked.

I was shocked with the characters. I was shocked with the twists. So many things I didn't expect to happen, but they still did. One some parts I had to go back just to convince myself that that in fact has just occurred...

Prim dying? Why? When she dies, It's painful. Everything Katniss was fighting for was consumed by flames. Her own essence burned the house down. They won. She lost. And it really pisses me off how much she helped, and how much they screwed her over.

I was mad but that the same time impressed on how the decision of Peeta vs Gale boils down to. I always knew who the victor would be, but, it seems just plain wrong how he came into power. This entire series was never a romance, but you kind of expect it anyways right? I wanted a bit of romance. Also how Gale is portrait at the end of things isn't perfect, and borderlines on wrong, I just wanted him to do something else, anything.

At the end of the day though... it was just right.

Katniss was wonderful. I loved her character in the first two books, and she is still my fav in this one. I loved her insanity. I loved her passion, her determination, her recklessness, her naiveté. You expect some things to just be automatic in books, theere are unwritten rules that some authors follow when concerning with their characters, but Collins is just like her character. Completely disregards the rules, and created some of her own.

The whole story felt right. The deaths, the sorrow, the twists and turns. This book has a bittersweet taste to it, one that many will reject, but some will come to understand.

This story was never a romance. It was never going to have a happy ending in the terms we expected it. It exceeded my expectations really. It was powerful, it was epic, it was strong. In some ways it reminded me of The Deathly Hollows. As with the ending of HP, Mockingjay's entered the big leagues and worked its way to the top.

I loved it.

I wonder if they are going to hold true to the story in the movies. I hope so. It sure will be interesting to see how everything unfolds.
